The Power is Niche Marketing

The Power is Niche Marketing
by Joyce Oladipo "The Home Business Sistah"

Niching is a powerful way of effectively reaching your target market. I know your thinking that you are limiting your self but you’re wrong. The truth is having a niche doesn’t limit you I; if focuses you. It doesn’t mean that you have to stop working with those that show up at your door

Why do you need a niche?

Well I have to say “the riches are in the niches”. And when you narrow down your target market you attract more clients.

When you niche it becomes easier and less expensive to find and reach prospects. You are actually practicing a “spray and pray” marketing when you don’t niche. It’s expensive and it has very little returns. At least if you have a niche you would know where to find them.

Another magical thing that also happens is that your name is branded and spreads more rapidly. You name is known faster and people begins to recognise you has an expert, and your service becomes more desirable.

How to be an expert in your niche?

You can choose a niche that target a particular market, based on occupation – made of people that are employed in the same, demography – people who share one or more characteristics, geography - a niche based on a physical location and psychographics – a niche bashed in people feelings – their likes, dislikes, hobbies, religion. For example you can have a niche for “college women in career search”.

To become know in a niche, you begin by networking, writing, speaking, or teaching to establish yourself as an expert. Also keep in mind that networking is not about going to a room and exchanging business cards; it’s about creating a contact lists from which you’ll draw clients, referrals, ideas and information.

You can actively increase you network by reaching other people either in your niche or serving people in your niche. For example if you are a virtual assistant to real estate coaches then you want to network with real estate coaches. You should also get to know loan officers, lawyers, mortgage officers, newsletter editors … anyone who comes in contact with you niche daily.

Try meeting them, calling them, writing them, write for them, speak to them, and if possible teach them

Conclusion

You can increase your business if you focus on narrowing your niche. If you marketing to a broader niche it’s difficult to attract interested prospects. And your name is not well spread.
